At Nam's you definitely feel welcome. It has more of a mom and pop feel, the owner herself cooks. You see how fresh the food it and the taste of the food shows it!
It's location isn't in the best area or most desirable part of San Pedro. I hope that with all of the new businesses coming to the downtown San Pedro marina, it will make pacific and Nams red door a more appealing place.
I will continue to give my business to this little Vietnamese food place. I love the small and cozy atmosphere and the food. Thank you "Mrs Nam" (haha) keep up the good cookin!

A long time ago, there really was a Nam at this place, and the food was good and she was very friendly and informative about Vietnamese cuisine.
Sadly, she sold this place and opened another, supposedly in Lawndale, though I never found it.
Since then, it has gone through a succession of owners and the food has gotten worse and worse.
It is super-unsanitary-if you pass by the rear of this place in the alley and catch a glimpse of the dirty, overflowing trash cans, you wouldn't even think of eating there.
I don't know how this place stays in business.  Avoid wasting your money and risking food poisoning here

I love this place! It's like eating at someone's house. And I think you essentially are. Hole and in wall, mom& pop, or rather mother&son ,I love watching her cook in the kitchen. Everything is right there in front of you, the stove, refrigerator, there's no question your food is being prepared fresh. I find the people here funny and welcoming. I'm told it's been here for over forty years and I can understand why. Can she be abrasive? Maybe, I could see that but I'd say it's probably due to a cultural difference and wouldn't take it personally or keep me from coming here. The imperial rolls are a must, it's been said before, but I've yet to have a bad meal here. I even came in today because I've been sick and wanted pho. And it's always nice to be remembered. If you're in the area, check it out.

I am sad to say that I would never come back to this place.

I really wanted to like it since it's down the street from my house. I didn't want to judge upon just on yelp reviews. But man was I wrong. I went to try this place yesterday, January 31, 2019 I was their first and only customer the first hour. I wanted to try it even though it was pouring rain because I wanted to see if the reviews were right.

As I went in, just like everyone else said it is cute and homey feeling. It looked clean from the dim lights. It was just a lady and a guy there. We had ordered their pho and their mi xao, i think that is what it is called.

The pho, honestly tasted like water, was $8.95. The meat was over cooked. I am assuming this broth isn't the same as the normal pho places where they actually take time to make it. I would know this because either they had cooked it the day before or they just made the soup because we were there 15 mins before they opened and saw them walk in.  The pho meat was probably over cooked hoping that they could get the soup to taste like beef but sadly it just didn't work out. To top it off they had already included the beansprouts to make the bowl look fuller which made it worse.

The mi xao, the noodles with vegetables and meat was $9.95. It was honestly salty and felt like they just threw whatever vegetables they had. While I was eating it, it honestly had a bad aftertaste which i didn't want to be quick to judge. But stupid me, decided to keep eating it and not be judgy about it. I am not sure if it is supposed to look like soupy and just everything over boiled but it was.

Sadly right after I felt so sick. I ended up rushing home feeling all nauseous. I knew I should of stopped eating but honestly it wasn't cheap. The portion sizes were so small. I feel bad and didn't want to write this review but people have the right to know.

I will never come back and honestly will remind all my friends to never come here. But I did saw that many people loved their imperial rolls. So if you do want to come, please please try their imperial rolls. It apparently has changed many people's views on this place. Just make sure its cooked all the way.

Nope!!! I never thought one could fail at pho but this place proved me wrong!!! It was the worst I ever had eekkk or should I say YUCK!! Never again!!  I was so looking forward to visiting this place, since it's the only Pho place for miles. Then wait! The spring rolls, they were ok but the peanut sauce was awful. Oh and the customer service, um - it does not exists ‍
